Walking at Sunrise in the Harbor ⛵ Loviisa, Finland
4K UHD
Rise and shine, Loviisa!
Walk with me as we walk along the Gulf of Finland, the guest harbour and a bit of the old town.
I managed to start the walk just before sunrise, most of the city is still vast asleep on this Monday morning.
The morning mist is also still floating around, soon the sun will come up and burn it all away.
Loviisa was founded in 1745, as a border fortress against Russia. Most of the fortifications have been preserved. Loviisa was originally called Degerby, but king Adolf Frederick of Sweden renamed the city after his spouse Lovisa Ulrika after visiting the town in 1752.
Loviisa is the site of two of Finland’s nuclear reactors.
