Hello again, dear scene walker.
Would you like to take a walk with me?
I promise it will be fun, if not i’m sorry. =(
It’s a beautiful morning with a clear sky where the sun can do what it does best.
Today we are welcomed in Espoo, Finland.
I believe this is our first visit to Espoo.

Our walk starts around the Yacht Club harbor of Espoon Pursiseura.
It is the largest Yacht Club in Espoo with almost 1000 members.
Founded in 1967, the harbor offers well-equipped modern berths for up to 400 yachts.
Its activities are based on three main base functions: junior sailing, sailing competition and leasure sailing.

The city of Espoo is known for its large natural areas, including the long shoreline, 58 km in total.
Espoo shares a border with Helsinki, Vantaa, Kirkkonummi, Vihti and Nurmijärvi.
In total, about 300,000 residents have found a home here, making it the 2nd-most populous city in Finland.
The oldest settlement discovered in Espoo dates back to 8,000 years ago.
After the Northern Crusades, Swedish settlers began to migrate to the coastal areas of present-day Finland.
Espoo was established in the 15th century as a self-governing Catholic parish.
Espoo experienced rapid urbanization and major demographic changes in the decades following WWII.
Espoo gained city rights in 1972.
Espoo does not have a traditional city centre, but has 5 distinct city centres and numerous local centres, many of which are formed around historical manors.

Several major companies are based in Espoo, including Nokia, Neste, Fortum, Foreca, as well as video game developers Rovio (Angry Birds) and Remedy Ent.

As i mentioned, Espoo has a long shoreline of about 58 km and there are 165 islands.
The shoreline is diverse and includes coves, reed beds, sandy beaches, coastal cliffs and boat harbours.
The land in Espoo is rising at about a quarter of a meter per century and the damp rising land banks are slowly becoming swampy.
Further inland you’ll find more than a hundred lakes and ponds.
These were formed when the land began to slowly rise after the continental ice sheet thawed and water began to flow into the fissures in the rock.
The most popular natural area in Espoo is Nuuksio National Park, located in northern Espoo.
It is one of Finland’s 40 national parks, established in 1994.

More than a dozen notable people have been born in Espoo, including Kimi Räikkönen (F1 World Champion).

Thank you for joining me on this fine morning.
I hope you can enjoy it as much as i did.
Take care of yourself and i wish you the best of luck in whatever you do or will do

PS: Keep an eye out for the end of the movie from minute 37:25. (CINEMATIC)
