Welcome dear scene walker
Today’s walk will take place at the Open-Air Museum Seurasaari, Helsinki, Finland.
Also called Mini Finland.
It’s best experienced in the summer between the months of May and September.
Founded in 1909, the museum consists of (87) buildings from the different provinces of Finland.
The aim is to show the Finnish countryside from the 18th to the 20th century.
The buildings on Seurasaari are all original and have been moved from all over Finland.
Seurasaari is a good example that you don’t have to travel far in Helsinki to be surrounded by nature.
The island’s most popular annual event is the Seurasaari Midsummer.
The event culminates in a midsummer wedding, where the bride and groom light a bonfire.
In December, the Seurasaari Joulupolku (Christmas path) also becomes more and more popular.
Fun fact .1: The Seurasaari Bridge was built from trees felled by an autumn storm in 1891–1892.
Fun fact .2: Seurasaari includes a nudist beach and one of only three in the entire country.
Thanks for watching the scenes.
Enjoy, take care and have a nice week.
