Helsinki, Finland 🚶 Ice Cold Seashore Winter Morning Twilight Walk
4K UHD
Good morning, Welcome to one of the many beautiful islands in the Archipelago within Finnish territorial waters.
The largest archipelago in the world by the number of islands.
The time is 09.00 on a Monday morning, 27 December and it’s freezing cold with a temperature of -17°c (1.4°f).
We are within the hour of sunrise, in what is called “Civil Twilight”.
The sun will start to rise in approximately 30 minutes from now.
It feels unreal to be wandering around in an area so beautiful and serene, while just 5 minutes walking south is the Finnish capital, Helsinki, waking up after Christmas holiday.
If we would travel in to the direction of sunrise we would eventually end up in Tallinn, Estonia (86 km).
However, the water is just a tad bit too cold for a swim…
Getting to the island is easy during the winter, a pedestrian bridge is accessible from November to April. During the summer the island is only reachable by boat.
One of the islands we can see from here is Harakka island. Great place for artists, exhibitions as well for nature enthusiasts, nature trails and a nature centre.
Eckerö Line cruise ship can be seen on its way to Tallinn.
Thank you for reading and walking with me.
I hope to see you back in the next scene (or one of my previous scenes). Stay safe and take care of yourself.
