Welcome back to another scene.
I wanted to film in a calm, quiet place during the festivities.
Which brings us to Häme Castle, located in Hämeenlinna, Finland.
The castle (built in the 13th century) seems beautifully decorated for Christmas.
A cloud of fog moves over from the lake next to us, the air is particularly cold compared to previous days, -9°c to be precise.
it’s around 2 AM on December 24.
Apart from a few lone snow plows, it looks like we’re out on our own.
Earlier today a cloud of snow passed over making it look really nice for Christmas.
Häme Castle was supposedly built during Birger Jarl‘s second Swedish Crusade to Finland, which would date the castle to the mid-13th century.
The settlement around the castle received official city status as “Hämeenlinna” in 1639.
It underwent 2 restorations, once in the early 1600s and a major restoration from 1953 to 1988.
Since 1979, the castle has been a public museum, the facilities of which can also be rented for private events.
Interestingly, shortly after filming this walk, i blacked out next to the car.
It happened right after my body got back to temperature, i had frozen hands the whole time filming (wearing thick gloves).
I assume it was a combination of fatigue, hunger and poor blood circulation that caused the effect.
I regained consciousness and waited until i felt well enough to drive back home.
This night had become quite an adventure, but i enjoyed walking in peace, i hope you can too.
Thanks for watching. Have a nice day, happy holidays and until the next scene.
